About the C4S App
The C4S App is a tool that allows users:
to manage soil spectra of different condition and sensor or instrument type for accessible, interoperable and future proof use;
to intelligently access CSIRO’s large national soil spectral library resources; and
to make soil property value predictions for their own locally collected soil spectra.
The C4S App is designed to be user-friendly and accessible, allowing users to easily navigate through the process of uploading spectra and corresponding site and soil analytical information (if available), making a selection of most representative spectra to their locally collected soil spectra from CSIRO’s large national spectral library, selecting appropriate soil property prediction models, and obtaining predictions for a variety of soil properties.
The C4S App is built on the principles of open science and aims to provide a platform for researchers, agronomists, and land managers to access and utilize soil spectral data effectively. The system is built on nearly a decade of CSIRO’s soil spectroscopy research.
The App is currently a prototype and is being actively developed. Users are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions for improvements to help shape the future of the C4S App.
